Glen Johnson is set to be out until at least the middle of October after sustaining another hamstring injury.
The England right back made his first appearance of Liverpool’s season in the 81st minute against Stoke, but only moments later effectively reduced the reds down to ten men after pulling up with the injury.
Liverpool, who have Martin Kelly out through injury, have used Martin Skrtel at that position in the last two games, with John Flanagan also available.
The injury to the reds two first choice right backs will cause concern for Dalglish, who will be reminded that the clubs next opponents have a particularly pacy winger to cope with this weekend on that side – in the form of Gareth Bale.
Glen Johnson has been out injured on a number of occasions since his transfer to Liverpool, and fans will be hoping he doesn’t continue his transformation in to our right-back version of Aurelio.
We should consider selling him if his injury problems persist. He’s becoming more of a liability then anything else…
I fear for this lad, this must be at least the third hamstring injury he has had (and I’m sure I am skipping a few).
He’s obviously better at running than tackling. If these injuries continue to pile up and his pace is affected – what are we left with?
