Andriy Voronin is set to return to Anfield in a couple of weeks after his season long loan at Hertha Berlin ended.
And whilst Benitez may be keen to listen to offers for the Ukrainian – the player himself has warned that he has no intention to quit just yet.
Speaking to the media in Kiev he said:
‘It wasn’t a bad season in Germany but now I am coming back to conquer England.
‘I’m a person who likes to face new challenges. It’s time to prove to myself and to those people who think I can score a lot of goals only in Bundesliga, that it’s not so.
‘Liverpool is one of the world’s strongest clubs. To play for it is a great honour for any footballer.
‘I know it’s not going to be easy but I feel ready for a real fight to get into the first choice team.’
Liverpool have so far failed to land striking cover for Torres following the departure of Robbie Keane. Andriy joined Liverpool on a free transfer in 2007.
I think voronin might be the second striker we need
CB, is that sarcasm?
Irishjig69b, it hasnt been 4 years without a trophy, do you not remember the fa cup 2006? That epic game with West Ham.
We could loan him out to Crosby Marine next, or the Old Roan sunday league team
give him a fair crack, cant harm can it? oh and rafa out, 4 years and no trophy, not good enough, why do pool fans love em so much??
WOW, we don’t really need Torres anymore do we?
I really rate Andriy alongside such greats as Bernard Diomede, and Ali Dia
Let’s give him a chance and see if he can do the business.
great! someone to back up torres for once who is a natural striker.
I love a bit of sarcasm.
