The Spanish national side has upset Rafa Benitez on at least three occasions in the past 18 months and nobody will be paying closer attention to their training methods than our boss.
Fernando Torres missed almost half of last season’s Premier League fixtures after being plagued by injuries picked up whilst on international duty.
Earlier tonight Torres was withdrawn from training with Spain after complaining of some tightness in his groin – the same problem he suffered with last season.
The national coach, Vicente Del Bosque, was quick to insist that he was withdrawn from training as a precaution. Spain have two up-coming World Cup qualifiers against Armenia and Bosnia, both away, on Saturday and Wednesday.
The pressure to play Torres will be even greater for Spain after David Villa has withdrawn from the squad – suffering a hamstring injury playing for Valencia last weekend.
Spain have already qualified for the World Cup so Benitez will insist that Torres should not be used unnecessarily by his country.
Fingers crossed.
I`m sure the spanish manager hasn`t given L.F.C. a second thought…… why would he?
Even if Torres is okay they should not play him, Spain has already qualified so they should give a chance to other forwarders to play. I hope it’ll turn out to be of no harm for our star
If Torres is injured for a period of time then our season is more or less over!.We’ve no one who can replace him and neither do we have the money!.Perhaps Pacheco can step-up to the plate…
If we didn’t have bad luck wed have no luck at all would we ?
