Despite the huge pressure of his price tag and his lack of Premiership goals, Robbie himself admits he never doubted his ability to produce the goods for Liverpool.
After his two goal haul against West Brom, Liverpool’s number seven said:
“My first Premier League goal for Liverpool has been a long time coming but I knew it was only a matter of time. I didn’t get down about things.
“Hopefully that is Robbie Keane back to his best. It’s been stop-start but I feel like I’m getting better and better with each game and starting to know the players more.
“When I was younger, I’d get down about things but I knew it was a matter of time.
“That said, it’s not about Robbie Keane. It’s about the team and the performance.”
Thank God that Keane has put us back in the title race. He just needs to keep everything going well.
