Liverpool will once again wear their red shirts in the European Cup Final in Athens this year.
Liverpool played in the red shirts two years ago in Istanbul with AC Milan then choosing to play in white (they have won 5 of their 6 European Cups wearing white).
Interestingly this time, AC Milan again won the right to the be the home team but are keen to ‘exorcise’ their demons of that night.
Is it another lucky Omen?

Come on Liverpool. Yet again I read such negative press about Liverpools chances, one main one is the reporter for the News of the World, some big hairy faced man. Not once have I read a good report, even after FA cup final 2006, not even the European cup win 2005. So we go forth and show them yet again how good we are. WE LOVE YOU LIVERPOOL.

I never, ever wear my LFC shirt cos when I do the reds invariably lose!! However, if it’s anything like 2 years ago (Istanbul), I will proudly start the evening wearing my RED shirt, then after 30 mins take it off, feeling slightly embarrassed and choosing to put on a plain white t-shirt instead! By the end of the game I didn’t have a shirt at all…so what the reds actually wear this time won’t matter a jot, so long as they play with passion, they will bring the Cup home again *****

What colour kit each team wears will not mean a thing come the day of the final, as the teams’ performance is far more important. But Liverpool have a far stronger squad than two years ago, and I don’t think Milan are as good as they were in 2005 anyway.

Great Every time Liverpool have won the European Cup they have worn RED and have beaten a team wearing All White. Moenchengladbach 1977, Bruges 1978, Real Madrid 1981, Roma 1984, AC Milan 2005.
The Italians will definately be out for revenge, but the bonus of playing in red will give us an advantage. i hope Stevie can make that lil fk~~ Gatusto eat a large plate of humble pie.
