Djibril Cisse could well be heading back to Anfield at the end of the season as Liverpool appear to have slapped a £7 million price tag on the French striker.
The reds are determined to secure a decent price back on the player they splashed out £14 million early on in Rafa Benitez’ reign. The deal, you will remember, was concluded by then manager Gerard Houllier.
The Frenchman’s year at Marseille has not gone too well – with some of the fans getting on his back.
Djibril Cisse however seems that his career with Liverpool should not necessarily be over insisting that he would relish a return to Anfield.
Speaking to the French press Djib said:
“I never said that I wanted to leave [Marseille]. There is an option to use or not. We haven’t talked about that yet. There will be a time when we will sit down and talk.
“If Liverpool ask me to come-back, the conversation is over. Let’s wait for them. It is a lot of money, it is risky. But I know myself and I would pay the 12 million euros for Cisse.”
