French forward Dugarry’s form since arriving on loan from Bordeaux has not only helped the Blues to Premiership survival but also attracted the interest of other top-flight clubs.
He will be a free agent in the summer and, despite Birmingham wanting to sign him permanently, there were fears that a more illustrious club would lure him away.
But the player’s agent, Michel Benguigui, has given the biggest hint yet that the 31-year-old is ready to stay at St Andrews.
“Christophe loves Birmingham. He is happy where he is and enjoys playing for them,” said Benguigui.
“You have to understand that I cannot tell you exactly what he is thinking.
“Christophe is his own man but I’m quite sure he will stay. It is where he wants to finish. Birmingham City are for him.”
Benguigui added:
“Sure, there is interest from Liverpool. Yes, Spurs are interested. But is that surprising?
“What you have to know about Christophe is that he is a world champion. He has won trophies.
“What is important to him is to be happy, to be in an environment he enjoys.
“To be frank, he is very close to Steve Bruce, to the chairman and the players. He gets on with his team-mates. He is aware of how much the supporters love him too. He appreciates that.
“There are very good people at Birmingham and Christophe and I have been treated very well.
“He knows he owes Birmingham and he is a very honest man.
“I had dinner with Christophe on Monday and he said to me ‘Michel, this team is now very good, it has improved and can improve more’.”
