Liverpool will be aiming to complete a league double over Arsenal in a rare Friday night outing for the reds.
The reds will be half-way through the Premier League season when the final whistle sounds, with a win ensuring that the reds will sit inside the top four on Christmas Day.
Arsenal have their own designs on breaking back into the top four and could achieve that if they get the result tonight.
Klopp selects a strong side for the first of four games over the Christmas period.

22' Mane finds Robertson at the corner of the area. The Scot whips in the cross to the back post and Firmino heads it powerfully goalbound.

42' Mane getting singled out a bit for some rough treatment here. He's won a couple of free kicks from various incidents.
Approaching half time and Liverpool, resplendent in their orange kit, deservedly ahead although Arsenal ending this half with some chances of their own.
44' Reds should have done better there.
Salah and Mane both had chances. Salah's sliding shot wasn't strong enough to beat Cech and from the rebound, Mane tried an acrobatic overhead kick but it went over.

45' Liverpool are deep in Arsenal's area again and Salah completely misses his shot from the middle of the penalty area.

Could have been many many more goals in that half. Arsenal could have done better but the reds, on another day, could have had about 5!

Half time sub for Arsenal - Monreal replaced by Mustafi - believed to be due to an injury picked up in that first half.

48' Salah brings the ball up most of the length of the pitch, lays it off to Mane, receives it back and then has his shot saved.
Think the initial move came from an Arsenal corner.

52' From one end of the pitch, Salah powers up the field lays it off to Firmino who holds the ball - passes it back and then Salah curls the ball around Petr Cech, with the help of a deflection off the Arsenal defender.
54' Sanchez hits back with one almost straight away. Cross comes in from Arsenal, Joe Gomez is sleeping on the job, and Alexis Sanchez heads in to make it Arsenal 1-2 Liverpool
56' Oh dear. Granit Xhaka fires in the equaliser with his shot from 30 yards out. It was a powerful shot and flew past Mignolet who kicks the post.
GOAL
58' Mezut Ozil sensationally makes it 3 for Arsenal who now lead. He runs into the area and slides the ball under the hapless Simon Mignolet.
Liverpool have conceded three times in 5 minutes. Not entirely sure what the Liverpool keeper was doing for the Xhaka equaliser. It was a decent shot yes, but he appeared to try and save it with one hand.
The third goal from Arsenal saw the defence cut open and Mignolet couldn't get down quickly enough to save the chance.
Liverpool should have had this wrapped up in the first half and despite scoring again in this half now find themselves behind.
69' Just not going right again for Sadio Mane. He makes a decent run into the area but his control is poor and Arsenal get it away.
They've got the bit between their teeth now.

He absolutely smashes it at the goal and it's too much for Cech to keep hold of. He gets his hands on it but it goes in.

Draw doesn't do much for either side. Liverpool arguably the better side but 5 minutes of madness handed Arsenal 3 goals in the middle of the half.
Liverpool did well to pick themselves up from that and get the point.
Speaking on the pitch after the final whistle James Milner insists that the reds need to close games down when they are in front.
'We need to become more boring', he says.
