LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT SEASON So we have lost our grip on the European Cup. Hopefully we won't be waiting another 21 years to see it again. Rafa Benitez must be tearing his hair out, oh that explains it then(!), four strikers all failed to get amongst the goals. What is their problem. These players get paid tens of thousands of pounds a week to kick the ball in the back of the net - can it be that difficult? Either way, it looks like Fernando Morientes is certainly on his last legs, at least Djibril Cisse can argue that he isn't even being played as a striker. My personal choice would be to give Cisse and Fowler a game up front, acting as strikers, although I think the future season ahead rests on a Crouch- A.N.Other partnership. Time to break the bank, lets just hope we can cash in on Nando and Cisse if he leaves. So we have ten league games and an FA Cup tie before the World Cup. Second place appears to be starting to drift out our grasp and with a tricky tie away at a rejuvenated Arsenal we need to start finding the back of the opposition net. Next season I expect us to push Chelsea a little harder at the top of the league. A striker coupled with the arrival of Mark Gonzalez and I seriously don't believe we are too far from being genuine contenders. I am going for either Lyon or Barcelona now in the Champions League. I would actually quite like to see Gerard Houllier get his hands on 'the old big ears' - it's a sort of keeping it in the family. One last point - you may have noticed the changes to our website over the last week or so. These are the result of feedback from our readers and we hope it makes the website both easier to read and easier to navigate. Hopefully any teething problems will be kept to a minimum as we introduce some new features to the site. We also have a competition to win Robbie Fowler's autobiography which you can enter if you can answer the question that is. Thanks kindly and take care of yourselves. John
