The DVD of the six-part Being Liverpool series is now available on DVD - here is our review and a competition to win one of three copies.
Being: Liverpool is a 2012 fly-on-the-wall documentary by Fox Soccer in the US. The series was also aired on Channel 5 in the UK.
Over the course of 6 episodes the series looked behind the scenes of Liverpool beginning from the end of the 2011-12 season, the appointment of a new Liverpool FC manager after Kenny Dalglish was sacked, and runs right through pre-season, the North American tour, European qualification and the early stages of the 2012-13 Premier League campaign.
Training ground spats, half-time team-talks, game preparation and transfer ins-and-outs are all shown - all the things usually hidden from the club's supporters.
In one of our favourite parts of the series we follow one of Liverpool's longest serving players, Jamie Carragher, travelling in the wind and rain to monitor his own son's performance at the Liverpool Academy. His pride at being one of Liverpool's modern day greats neatly mirrored by his pride at watching his boy playing in Liverpool red.
Like many LFC fans we were a little worried before the programme aired - but Fox did a great job - not only in their sensible coverage of behind the scenes footage such as team-talks, but also trying to capture Liverpool's global appeal - as they take part in a pre-season tour across the Atlantic - with interviews with the wide range of supporters.
The DVD has a run time of nearly 4 and half hours and contains some bonus features such as:
