The Liverpool manager has been speaking ahead of Liverpool's League Cup 3rd Round clash at Old Trafford.
Questions from the media scrum were heavily weighted on the return of Luis Suarez, a player who has been missing from first team action for Liverpool since the 21st April 2013 - missing a total of 9 league games and a League Cup 2nd Round clash.
But Rodgers said he was still undecided on whether Luis Suarez would start his first game since the ban. Brendan said he would decided in the next 24 hours before making a decision before adding:
"It's been a really difficult time for him not playing games.
"How he has prepared himself over the last number of weeks has been fantastic.
"He's really chomping at the bit to help the team."
A reporter asked Rodgers if Suárez had 'learned his lesson'. The Liverpool boss smiled with a "We will see, we will see."
But there is no doubt he should start from teammate Kolo Toure - who indicated that Suarez is in top form in training:
‘Luis Suarez has been very difficult to play against in training lately — very, very difficult.
‘His return is going to be massive for us, definitely. He is a winner. He wants to win. I’m sure he will be ready to be thrown back in.’
Liverpool travel to Old Trafford to meet David Moyes men in the 3rd Round of the League Cup on Wednesday night.
Should Luis Suarez start against Man Utd? Should he even be in the squad for the trip to Old Trafford? Or should he be saved for the League game next weekend?
