Liverpool have been drawn against Brighton & Hove Albion away in the 3rd Round of the League Cup.
Brighton are in the Championship, after having being promoted as League One Champions last season.
The reds were knocked out in last season’s third round. Liverpool and League Two side Northampton Town were tied at 2-2 after extra time, before Northampton won through 4-2 on penalties.
The last time the two clubs met in any competition was the FA Cup 4th round replay at Brighton’s former ground in 1991. The reds won through 3-2.
The last time the clubs met in the League Cup was at Anfield in 1985 – the reds winning 4-0.
Brighton have recently moved in to a new £105M stadium, The Amex, with a capacity of 22,500.
