Suarez takes 16 minutes to open his Liverpool FC account
Liverpool’s rejuvenation under Kenny Dalglish continued as the reds new number 7 helped seal a 2-0 victory over Stoke.
Fernando Torres took 2 games and 16 minutes to open his LFC account. Luis Suarez did it minus the two games.
Dalglish said after the game:
“He had not even had the opportunity to train with us because of administrative stuff which had to be sorted out.
“When he starts training with the lads I think we might see an improvement.
If there is more to come – the reds are in for a treat.
Dalglish shuffled the pack again, with Aurelio and Kelly operating more similarly to wing-backs. Gerrard was more advanced than last week against Fulham, and Dirk Kuyt started as the front man.
The reds toiled away in the first half, with both Johnson and Kuyt having excellent chances to put the reds in the lead.
It wasn’t until the second half that the reds broke the deadlock.
A Steven Gerrard free kick, hit the wall and made it’s way to Meireles, who smashed in his 3rd goal in 4 games.
Kenny kept the Kop waiting as Suarez went through his warm-ups. Eventually in the 63rd minute Suarez was introduced and the ground rose to it’s feet.
His first touch in English football was not one he would remember well, and the Stoke fans – showing the lack of originality that had been present from them all game – chanted ‘What a waste of money’.
Within 16 minutes of coming on they were eating their words.
A Kuyt flick on, saw Suarez time his run to perfection, skipping past the keeper before angling his shot goalbound. Wilkinson got the touch but could only divert the ball on to the post and in.
Luis Suarez’ account was opened in front of the Kop.
A good, confident display by the lads with some excellent pass and move football that has no doubt returned under Kenny who should be made permenant manager. Give the King his crown and throne back….
I truely believe we’d be in the top four had we not wasted all those months with Roy Hodgson at the helm.

With our players playin with passion and confidence, and an impressive lookin no 7 in Sumarez and Carroll the savage yet to come in the future should be very bright. Great reflex save from Pepe in 2nd half.

After watching the Stoke game last night, I am no longer afraid or dreading watching my beloved reds, the amount of fight to win the ball back was awesome, also they seemed determined to go forward in any given situation, as opposed to sideways and backways passing followed by a big hoof to nowhere.
Sure we might be lacking a bit of class in some areas but the confidence is definately growing. Morelies had a great game but got a bit of a knock, steamed in for his goal mind. Suarez looks very sharp. Pool seem to have a completely different work ethic from xmas time. Thanks KK I’m believing again.
Hope our fans don’t boo Torres, show more class then the Chelski chavs

The supporters going to see us play Chelski at Stamford MUST whistle and boo as soon he gets possession! And to show how much better we are than the cockney’s, they should chant a new Torres song for example:

And on the match, great game by Dirk just unlucky he didn’t netted one in. Gerrard just beeing Gerrard! Meireles, I said that in the summer and I’ll say it again: Our BEST investment in the last two years as far as I’m concerned. But that might be broken by our new number 7 cos the lad has the coolness of a Samuel L Jackson in pulp fiction when it comes to one-on-one situations with the keeper and a passing ability combined with skills equals: WORLD CLASS
Kelly not as strong as against the manc’s or blackpool or wolves but still aggressive, strong and he f**king want’s it! Glen superb defending AND attacking, Agger power and pace, Shelvey seems to get there more and more good game lad! Pepe, what can I say? Clean sheet and a real leader as always!
