A fundraiser will be held tonight at The Sandon pub near Anfield as part of the on-going campaign to commemorate the late great Bob Paisley in his home town of Hetton-le-Hole.
The Liverpool fans group, led by Ian Graves, were set up in response to a visit to Glenbuck, the home town of Shankly and witnessing first hand the plaque celebrating the life of a remarkable manager.
In Bob Paisley’s home town no such plaque is present, and the local people were thrilled with the idea when it was suggested to them.
Paisley won 3 European Cups whilst manager of Liverpool FC
Liverpool fans have been actively fund-raising over the past few weeks and months, and tonight’s event at The Sandon will feature some raffles for some fantastic LFC prizes such as a reds shirt signed by the team that beat Inter Milan at the San Siro last month.
Tickets for the night are £10 each and it kicks off later this evening. You may still be able to get hold of a few tickets by contacting paisleymemorial@hotmail.co.uk
