Roy Hodgson has spoken to reporters about his brief first meeting with Fernando Torres, which happened before the new manager headed to the reds Swiss training camp.
“I have met with Fernando. I found him to be a very pleasant man and we had a nice conversation.
As far as we are concerned he is a Liverpool player and we want him to remain a Liverpool player. He is not for sale and we don’t welcome any offers for him. We want to keep him.
My conversation with him was only short because I had to leave to come to the training camp in Switzerland. We spoke about football, the World Cup, his injury, and I told him how much I am looking forward to working with him.
Christian Purslow was also at the meeting and chatted to Fernando for a lot longer after I left but my chat with him was only about football matters.”
Fernando Torres is not expected to return to Melwood until the beginning of August.
I sense that Torres wants to stay but the gutter press keeps coming up with more lies. The pro Man Utd and anti Liverpool media are determined to strip us of our best players.Roy should demand at least £100 million for our star forward to fend of any interest afterall he’s twice the player as that overrated Rooney!.
Then there are so-called Liverpool sites like the koptalk who are addicted to negativity to the degree that one has to question their authencity.
Noooo! Purslow was brainwashing him…Roy must save Torres from the evil one
Save LFC, dont let the SCOUNDRELS near Torres and Gerrard.
That is extremely worrying. Torres and Gerrard should be being kept as far away from Purslow as possible. He would love to sell them!
