Liverpool’s reserves moved a step closer to landing a 40th title in the Liverpool Seniors Cup, with a 3-0 semi-final victory over local rivals Tranmere Rovers.
Lauri Dalla Valle (right), taking a step up from the youth side, scored his first goal at reserves level. David Amoo and an own goal completed the victory.
It was the first game at reserves level this season for the young Finn.
Rafa, Sammy Lee, Kenny Dalglish and Phil Thompson were amongst those in attendance in a game that also saw the return of Francisco Duran, the Spanish 21 year old midfielder, who has missed most of his entire 2 year career at Liverpool through injuries to his cruciate ligament.
Liverpool will face either Everton or Skelmersdale United in the final.
Liverpool reserves also take on Wigan next week in the semi-final of the Lancashire Seniors Cup – a trophy not won since 1973.
