Adam Lallana completed his signing for Brighton yesterday and has today been describing the move as the perfect fit.
The midfielder's LFC contract was due to end in June, but he signed a mini-extension until the end of the Premier League campaign.
Brighton secured their Premier League status during the post lockdown matches and the 32 year old was in the Liverpool squad at Anfield on the night the reds lifted the Premier League trophy.
Adam had spent seven seasons on the South Coast with Southampton (and a loan at Bournemouth) before he joined Brendan Rodgers Liverpool in the summer of 2014.
Speaking to the media today he had plenty of praise for Brighton boss Graham Potter.
'Keeping the teams style while staying in the division shows that (the manager) has done a fantastic job.
'The stadium and training facilities - it was a perfect fit really. I'm really excited to get stuck in to the challenge and hopefully we can push on next season.
'I've been very fortunate in my career, particularly in the last six years, playing international tournaments, European finals and winning the Premier League. If I can help particularly the younger lads, guide them, nurture them then I'd really like to do that.
I can’t believe liverpool allows himself to abandon such a player who made us dream and that he can give more! It’s really very sad for us Red fans and when I see the substitutes bench I’m worried about the next season
