Liverpool FC landed their 4th FA Youth Cup trophy in a one-legged final held at opponents Manchester City's Academy.
It was the young reds first final for 10 years and a first victory since 2007.
The competition is available for clubs nationwide with players between the ages of 15 and 18 at the beginning of the season, and the reds have navigated 6 rounds on their way to glory.
After an initial poor start by Liverpool they gradually grew into the game, with City first team manager Pep Guardiola watching on.
It was the home team who broke the deadlock just before half time to go in with a one goal advantage.
Fightback
But the reds continued to improve after the break and Whiston-born 17 year old Bobby Duncan got the all important equaliser with just four minutes remaining on the clock.
His shot, from long-range, proving too hot to handle. It was a shot his cousin, Steven Gerrard, would have been proud of. The player was ironically brought to LFC's Academy last summer from Manchester City.

After 30 minutes of extra time the two sides couldn't be separated but the reds went on to smash in all five of the penalties with Paul Glatzel, the captain, firing in the winning goal after an earlier failed conversion by the home team.

Clearly jubilant at the end of the game, there may now be an opportunity for the young reds to display their new trophy at Anfield tomorrow evening in front of a packed Anfield crowd.
