Liverpool collected all three points with a victory over West Brom at The Hawthorns - Liverpool's first league victory over a Tony Pulis side away from home.
At the end of a dour first half, Roberto Firmino got the only goal of the game - as he headed past Ben Foster in the West Brom goal.
It came from a setpiece, with a free kick being headed on by Lucas Leiva before Firmino headed in his 11th goal of the campaign.
With Ragnar Klavan out with illness, in came Lucas Leiva - sitting in front of Lovren and Matip.
The second half was a more interesting affair and the reds had more than enough chances to make it safe before the final whistle arrived in the 94th minute.
A genius move by Firmino found Milner in space inside the box - but the Liverpool vice-captain fired over from 10 yards.
And as West Brom pushed for an equaliser, and with their goalkeeper joining in the set-pieces, the reds twice found themselves faced with an empty net. Substitute Moreno firing wide with the first opportunity and a few minutes later Wijnaldum elected to play a cross rather than attempt a Xabi Alonso esque shot.
Simon Mignolet was called into action in the final 10 minutes to deny a Rondon shot with his strike and collected his first clean sheet in quite some time.
Liverpool move back into 3rd place and with 5 matches remaining look well positioned for a decent league finish.
