4th placed Liverpool host 7th placed Man United in the 8th game of the Premier League season.
At stake for the reds is the possibility of going joint top of the Premier League. For United they will hoping to get back into the top four and keep in touch with the current Premier League leaders.
The reds have won their previous 4 league games, but they have had a 15 day wait due to the international break. Can the reds continue their recent good form?

I think if Manchester United try to park the bus against Liverpool they will come a cropper.
Liverpool are just too good going forward. United aren't exactly watertight at the back either. For me United have to go for it.

Some sloppy passes from Liverpool in these opening minutes. And it doesn't look like Man Utd have come to Anfield to defend either.
Lovren concedes a rather unnecessary free kick outside the box - it's United second free kick of the game. Thankfully comes to nothing.

Ibrahimovic gets the ball at the edge of the box allowed to turn and fires on target. Karius saves.
Karius called in to action after Rashford beats Milner and gets a shot in. It's been mostly Manchester United so far in this game. Emre Can really struggling in this game.

Liverpool have improved over the past few minutes - first half an hour was dominated by United. Just glimpses of the reds creating some space now in the United half.

Coutinho's free kick though is disappointing and it's easy for De Gea to collect.

SECOND HALF
is underway. Klopp was out early and he looked like he may have had a dressing room rant at the players.
Mix up at the back and Karius passes the ball straight back to United. The ball is fed in and fortunately the offside flag goes up.
Great chance for United. Cross comes in to Zlatan Ibrahimovic but his header at the edge of the 6 yard box isn't on target and it goes back across the goal.
Herrara fouls Coutinho. Free kick for the reds. Played short - comes to nothing.
Big save from David De Gea as Emre Can gets the ball out of his feet and shoots inside the box.
No big surprise. Daniel Sturridge replaced by Adam Lallana. It wasn't a spectacular 100th appearance from Sturridge.

Arrival of Lallana to replace Sturridge seems to have transformed the reds who now look a lot more confident going forward.
Another great save by De Gea - Coutinho drills a shot that the United keeper has to push away. From the resulting corner James Milner goes down injured.
