Adam Bogdan today completed a season long loan move to Wigan Athletic for the upcoming season.
It leaves Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius as the reds only two senior goalkeepers.
Adam Bogdan, the 28 year old Hungarian, arrived at Liverpool last summer following the departure of reserve keeper Brad Jones. He joined on a free transfer from Bolton where he had spent 7 seasons, although he was nudged out of his first team place in the final campaign.
Although he saved 3 penalties in his opening Liverpool game - a penalty shootout win over League Two's Carlisle United - his other performances failed to provide the solidity Liverpool fans were hoping for. He conceded an early goal direct from a corner against Exeter City in the FA Cup third round - a match which saw Liverpool forced into a replay.
23 year old Welsh goalkeeper Danny Ward was recalled from his loan spell at Aberdeen last season as Klopp attempted to rebuild strength in the goalkeeping department but he has now gone on loan to Huddersfield - having signed a contract extension this summer.
Academy keeper Ryan Fulton has also gone on loan - to Chesterfield - leaving local lad Shamal George as the reds U21 keeper for the coming season.
The departure on loan of the three keepers underneath Mignolet and Karius ensures it should be a straight shootout between the two as to who can get their name on the Liverpool teamsheet.
