Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers today made his return to management taking up the reins at his 'boyhood club' Celtic.

The 43 year old manager was in charge at Liverpool for 3 years and 4 months before he was sacked in October and replaced by Jurgen Klopp.
Rodgers took a side inspired by Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge to second in the Premier League in 2013-14 but failed to land any silverware or reach a final during his tenure at Anfield.
In 2013-14 the reds won 26 of their 38 league games, sadly one behind eventual winners Manchester City. But the departure of Luis Suarez and the failure to use transfer fees wisely ensured the club would win only 21 of their next 48 League games before his final game which was a draw in the Merseyside derby
Speaking to Celtic TV Brendan said:
"I am absolutely delighted to be named Celtic manager. This is genuinely a huge honour for me.”
"The Club has been in magnificent shape in recent years and has collected silverware regularly during this time.”
“My objective now, of course, is to continue this work, to keep us at the top and again make our mark in Europe.”
Good luck in your new role Brendan.
A great honor for Brendan, to hold the post of manager at the two greatest clubs in the world.
Hear, hear
