Simon Mignolet, who had to pick the ball out of his net three times last night, has been speaking about the moments after the game.
Captain for the night James Milner and Jurgen Klopp both gave their verdict before they headed to the dressing room.
Once in there the manager seemingly reiterated what he had told the press - that the experience would form part of the journey.
Speaking to the Liverpool FC, the reds keeper said:
"Straight after the game he [Klopp] called the lads together and said 'especially the second half, we can learn from these things'.
"It's not easy straight after the game because everybody is disappointed, you feel that.
"You're looking for answers, but you can't really find it at this moment in time. The thing is that we have to learn from this and get stronger for it.
"We're still a young group of lads and we'll get better from this.
"So short after the game you just feel so disappointed. You don't really know what comes with it.
"It's very difficult to be objective after this and you just feel the fact that you lost the final - that's the only thing you can describe at this moment.
"You're looking for the answers that you can't really find at this time."
The Belgian keeper reflected on the night's events - hinting that Liverpool perhaps felt fortunate to be leading at half time.
"I think we go into half-time with the best result we can have. We played good football in the first half and created some chances.
"You want to build on that in the second half, but it's a big blow to concede that early.
"You give them their moment in the game and afterwards they played some good football, [Sevilla] created chances and scored the goals they needed to win the game unfortunately."
Mignolet now sets off to join the Belgian squad for the European Championships alongside team-mates Christian Benteke and Divock Origi.
How many of the Belgian contingent are in Jurgen Klopp's long term plans at Liverpool remains to be seen.
