Widely reported across the national newspapers this morning, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira.
The 26 year old Brazilian is believed to be the target of a £25M bid by Liverpool - with suggestions the Ukrainian side value him closer to £40M. The player has also been linked with Chelsea.
3 of Liverpool's strikers are currently injured, Sturridge, Ings and Origi, and although Benteke was involved in two of last night's goals, is suffering a slow start to his Anfield goal account and the reds are hoping for more attacking impetus in the second half of the season.
Teixeira has had a phenomenal strike rate so far with Donetsk. Rather than playing as an out and out striker he plays more as an attacking midfielder.
He has scored 22 goals in 15 games in this seasons (dubious strength) Ukrainian league, but has also added 4 from 10 Champions League ties.

Media reports suggest that LFC Chief Executive Ian Ayre has flown to Florida, where Shakhtar are currently preparing to play in the Florida Cup, to try and complete the deal.
