Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will spend more time on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in his 28 minute appearance at Newcastle United.
The reds lost 2-0 on the day, just 3 days after Sturridge scored twice against Southampton in a 60 minute appearance.
Rumours abounded earlier on Tuesday, and The Guardian have reported that the player was awaiting the results of a scan which have come back - and the news isn't good.
Following the game the player is said to have complained about his hamstring leading to the reds arranging a scan.
Jurgen Klopp, who has been the Liverpool manager for two months, has now had to deal with three separate injuries to Daniel Sturridge.
The club hope to have the player back available for selection for the festive period.
The reds take on FC Sion on Thursday to decide who wins the Europa League group before welcoming West Bromwich Albion to Anfield at the weekend
