Liverpool Football Club today confirmed the departure of Raheem Sterling.
The 20 year old moves to Manchester City for a fee believed to be £49M. The player had become embroiled in a dispute with the club, via his agent Aidy Ward, in the second half of last season after he refused to sign a contract extension offered by Liverpool.
Whilst Liverpool were in Thailand for the first pre-season game of the season, Raheem was undergoing a medical with Man City.
Sterling began his youth career at QPR before Rafa Benitez brought the player to Anfield in a £600,000 deal.
He made his senior debut for Liverpool as a substitute in March 2012 against Wigan Athletic - becoming the third youngest player to play for Liverpool.
He scored 23 goals in 129 appearances for Liverpool, with 18 goals coming in his 95 league appearances.
