Brazilian Philippe Coutinho signed an improved contract with Liverpool Football Club at the end of this winter's transfer window.
Liverpool Football Club describe the new deal as a 'long-term contract' with other media outlets reporting the new contract extending through to the summer of 2020.
He joined Liverpool just over 2 years ago for £8.5M from Inter Milan. His original contract was until the summer of 2018.
The 22 year old player is now contracted to the club until just before his 28th birthday.
After a solid season last term, the player has continued his improvement this season and has formed an impressive partnership in recent months with Raheem Sterling - if not in terms of goals scored certainly in terms of chance creation.
Although he didn't make the Brazil World Cup squad, he was recalled following the tournament by new national coach Dunga.
Speaking to LFC after signing his new deal he said:
"I'm really happy. It's a dream come true playing for this great club and being part of this squad.
"Today I've committed my future to the club and for this I'm feeling very pleased.
"This club is great and the fans have always supported me, so I've been eager to sign this new deal since conversations started. Today is a very happy day."
Phil has scored 10 times in 81 appearances for the reds. He has already made 31 appearances this season for the reds compared to 37 games for the whole of last season.
