Liverpool will be seeded in pot 3 for the Champions League group stage draw to begin later today.
The reds are amongst the 22 automatic qualifiers for the competition - joined by 10 teams who over the last two evenings have completed their quest to take part in Europe's top club football tournament.
Arsenal and Chelsea are in in the first group of seeds, with Man City edging into the second group.
Liverpool have missed four seasons of Champions League football following Rafa Benitez's sacking in the summer of 2010 - although they have twice played in the Europa League since that point.
Liverpool can't be drawn against any of their fellow English sides. They could be drawn against Zenit St Petersburg - the last side they faced in European competition, in the Europa League two seasons ago.
Our last Champions League group in 2009/10 contained Fiorentina, Lyon and Debrecen - none of whom are involved this time around.
