Fabio Borini, Liverpool's £10M 23 year old forward, is yet to decide on his future for next season.
The Italian still hopes he may be included in his national side's World Cup campaign after an impressive season at Sunderland which has seen him score 9 goals and receive plaudits from the Wearside supporters.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror Borini offered a reminder to Liverpool about the season ahead:
"Liverpool need a bigger squad because you can't play four competitions with the same 11 players. But it is now down to the Liverpool point of view and their sporting director. It is not down to my words.
"It depends on what Liverpool say. I can say anything definite now because anything is possible. There is a World Cup coming up so a lot depends on the national team and whether I am selected, then see what is happening."
Borini endured a difficult first season at Liverpool where injuries took a major toll but he insists this is behind him and that playing at Sunderland was a fantastic character-building experience:
"It has been a great season. I've had 39 appearances after a year when I was injured. It was a hard season and the hardest I've ever had because we have been constantly fighting, but this builds your character.
"It makes you a lot stronger. You learn how to suffer and how to get out of hard situations and that builds you and gets you ready for anything. I have always thought I was a Premier League player. Liverpool wouldn't have bought me otherwise. The injuries I could not control. This season I was injury free and I've showed I can play."
Do you think Borini will be a Liverpool player next year? Would he be happier being a squad member at Liverpool than a regular at Sunderland? Leave your verdict on Fabio below.
Return to lfc playing and training with better players wil make him a better player.
He should stay at Sunderland, big fish in a small pool, proved he wasn’t good enough for the Reds before he left. Sell him and re-invest.
He should come in we need more options for all competitions
