Philipp Degen Profile

One of his biggest assets is making overlapping runs and getting crosses in from the by-line. Biggest weakness is his heading.

Played for FC Basel, signed for them when he was only 11, made his first team debut aged 18 in 2001/02 season.

He was an unused substitute at Anfield when Liverpool played Basel in the Champions League Signed for Borussia Dortmund in September 2004 under the Bosman ruling and completed his move in the summer of 2005 Made the Swiss 26 man squad for Euro 2008.

Had a serious torn leg joint whereby he spent a lot of the 2007/08 season injured and only made 10 appearances
