Liverpool’s assistant manager Phil Thompson who 4 games ago promised the reds would win all their final matches is still feeling very confident.
The man from Kirkby who many accused of living in the clouds when he made his statement a month ago is looking forward to the final two games.
“I noticed Gary Megson said Saturday’s result had been an accident waiting to happen but we could say it was a matter of time before we did that to somebody,” said Thommo today.
“Michael could have had two match balls and Milan could have had one as well. They both did really well but somebody has to supply all those chances. And that is why it was such a fantastic all round performance.
“We know what we have to do in the last two matches. We are looking forward to it, because we have been in these tight positions before. The boys are on a roll and full of confidence.”
